Men, Breeders, and Love..

I was thinking about what book to write about next and I have to say that I am on the fence on this one. This author has MANY favorites of mine and I can't seem to just pick one! :(  With that said, I do have to put a WARNING  up because this author does write some very DARK EROTICA and I love her more for it. She is BOLD and BRAVE and she is genuinely one of the nicest people that I've had the pleasure of meeting. She has taken so much grief for her books and she deals with it with grace and dignity. I'm really proud of her!

From The Druid Series (Even though it wasn't called that when I first got it a couple of years ago), Reapers is the first book that I read from this particular author and it was brilliant! To me anyways. It's not some sweet "fluff" of a book. Its dark, edgy, emotionally charged, very sexual and to be honest it has some pretty harsh scenes/content. But that's the whole point of DARK erotica. There is a fine line and she does a wonderful job of walking it. I applaud her efforts greatly, because the outcome is phenomenal!! Each story gets better and better. Her writing/books is what some women secretly dream about and don't have the balls to talk about. She truly is my guilty pleasure. I get really excited when one her new books comes out and I rush to order it then gobble it up! It's like crack to an addict. That's usually the case with all of her books. Whether it be her paranormal books, or contemporary books it's a win / win for me. So it's my pleasure to introduce this fabulous author and her books. Mrs. Marata Eros! (LOVE HER!!) I won't be posting a review, and I will let you guys decide which one you want to go and pick up for yourselves. I do suggest that you read the synopsis first. :) All of them, to me, are completely great, and worthy of a buy. So please check her out if you haven't. Here are some links to her books. You won't be disappointed! OH! Some of her books are still free. BONUS!

For a complete look at her works, please visit her on her author page on Amazon.

Crossing Into Bliss

Here is a book with a little twist.

Hook, Line and Garter was another fabulous freebie find, even though I have to admit that when I first read the description I passed it by. I didn't want to read it and I didn't think it was for me or my tastes. For some odd reason, I kept going back to it. So i pushed the "one click" button and got it. I didn't think more on it until a couple of days later and after reading several books in between. I searched my book catalog and there it was! My eyes kept landing on it no matter what I did. So back to Amazon to read the description AGAIN. Talk about being indecisive! Finally, my finger hovered over the book and I got that feeling that something explosive was going to happen. I FREAK OUT!!! So, I pushed the button anyway. How daring of me, right?

So here I go.... into a journey with Sam, Kate and the I love to hate Hannah. What I found was that I absolutely LOVED it! It was an unexpected treasure. I laughed, I cried, I on occasion, wanted to throw my reading device at the wall from the whirlwind that is Hannah. I finished it in a couple of hours because I couldn't put it down. Now, there is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, but book two picks it up, so no worries there. This book is pure genius. It's "expect the unexpected" and it's something I've never read before so it was like a breath of fresh air. How she did it? I will never know. Trust me, I've tried to weasel it out of her many times. It's just brilliant!

The moral to this whole thing, is that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised. This book is about love, love in the sense of finding acceptance in one's self. No matter how you dress, what you look like, what circumstances may have occurred, or in Hannah's case, how you act. It's funny, and heartfelt and it doesn't hold back any punches. There is nothing and I do mean nothing predictable and cookie cutter about this book. It's raw in it's emotions and beautiful in it's craziness.

I did write a review for this particular book on Amazon, which I will not use today. It was awful and did no justice to the book, so I won't publish it here like I did with the previous two books. BUT take my word on this - this is a must read! You may think it's not your thing, and that's OK, but I assure you, you will look past any preconceived notions and fall in love with Sam and "the crew".

Publication date: May 1, 2013

Book Description: After a brutal attack, Kate Logan thought she could never trust another man again, until she met Sam Montgomery. Sam was like no one she had ever known before—beautiful, vivacious, and bold. In Sam, Kate found all she would ever need, want, or desire in a man, until she learned that the only thing worse than falling in love with her best friend was knowing nothing would ever come from it.

Sam Montgomery, a successful photographer and an occasional cross-dresser (yes, cross-dresser) lived his life out loud. He said what he wanted, dressed how he wanted, and did who he wanted. From the first time he laid his eyes on Kate, he knew he had to have her. Unfortunately, the only piece of her heart she was ready to give came tattooed with a ‘friends only’ stamp. He was willing to compromise his desires, but he never imagined he would fall head over heels in love with her.

The hot temperatures weren’t the only thing blazing in Austin, Texas. After one steamy night together, Kate and Sam decided it was time to redefine their friendship. When Kate finally opens herself to all that they could share together, Sam couldn’t have been happier—until he realizes that perhaps the only way to cast away all of Kate’s inner demons was to walk away forever.

Sebastian McCarthy Obsession Part 1

I won't be reviewing any books today because I have too many to count, and it's a bit of a jumble. Who knew this was going to happen?! I guess being prepared is key. So, while you lovely folks await my next review I thought it would be fun to tell you about my little (HA!) obsession. His name is Sebastian McCarthy. You might not know him, but not to worry that's what I am here for. Before I get into Sebastian, I want to give you a little background in HOW I found, or rather he found me.

My biggest reading list prior to the reading list I have now was Historical Romance. Oh, the beauty of it all... The dastardly Dukes, and rakes who ravish the poor unsuspecting virginal woman - who, in my mind I always suspected they never really minded the ravishing part! I was so caught up in everything "England in the 1800's" that I didn't want to read anything else. The opulence, and elegance of that time period had me in a state of denial. So where does Sebastian come in to play? I'm getting to that part. Stay with me here..

So, while I was all things historical romance and buying books by the dozens, I was also "friending" said authors who wrote these bits of deliciousness. One day I got a friend request from someone I didn't know. Of course, google is my friend and I googled her. Nothing... I found nothing! Can you believe that? So, I left the request unanswered for a while (Sorry about that love bug!). One day I just decided to accept and told myself "screw it! I can always defriend her if she turns out to be some crazy person". I am not sure who e-mailed whom first, but we struck up a very nice friendship. We talked about a lot of things including books.  As I have mentioned before, I didn't read the kinds of books she wrote, and she didn't pressure me into reading any of hers. I was actually scared of taking the plunge, if you will, into that genre of reading material. But THANK GOD I did! Lol! I bought her book and THAT is when my obsession with Mr. Sebastian McCarthy started.

When I thought about werewolves my first thoughts were those cheesy movies you used to watch when you were little.. you know the ones. The ones kind of like this:

Who in their god forsaken mind thinks that that is sexy? NOT ME! That's for sure. I wouldn't want to cuddle with him if we were the last two people on earth and it was up to us to re-populate the planet! But, I read on like a trooper and Oh-My-God.. Do I have to spell it out for you guys? There was NOTHING about Sebastian that came remotely close to what you see above! (again, THANK YOU MORGAN!)

Sebastian McCarthy is a smart, hard working and sexy as fuck legal-eagle who is an alpha male to the core. Nothing like the picture above. He's super hot with a capital H! Not only is he sexy and let's face it, starred in one of my many fantasies (TMI, I know) he is super devoted and totally in love with the heroine in the book.

In the first book "Seduced by the Moon" By: Morgan Fox, Sebastian and his brother (yes, I said brother) fall head over heels in love with Brie. They take her into protective custody to save her from a psychopath. Phew, and the things they do to her while in protective custody always bring on the goose bumps and make me shiver. Seduced is a good term for what they did to her. What's sexier than an alpha male who continually shows his affections and proves his love to his woman? I don't know about you other ladies but that shit is hot as hell to me! Tall, dark, handsome and totally alpha male with a charm to make you drop every stitch of clothing you have on in an instant! Mmmhmmm!

So, needless to say my love and insane obsession with Sebastian McCarthy started with this story. Oh it gets worse as the series continues, but that will have to wait until some other time. :)

Islands, weddings, vampires.. Oh my!

My delicious friend Patricia A. Wolf debuts her novella with a group of very talented authors. Yeah, I'm jealous.. what can I say. The power house that is their little group blows my mind! Anyway, I digress. Patricia is one of those people that has a general ease and finesse to her writing. She is very much the romantic and this novella showcases it.  The novella is short, as novellas should be, but with her saucy characters and charming as hell "hero" this little beauty makes you want to read more! I can not wait to see what she has cooked up for the near future. Of course being one of my best friends, I get the inside scoop (who's jealous now?! :)) But I will not spill it. *ZIP* You guys should honestly pick this up! I was blown away by it! So without further ado here is my review:

From the get go, this book brought a smile to my face. From the crazy plane ride, to the teenager who is trying to use her whiles at the airport, and of course the quirky banter between the two best friends. The continuity of the story was spot on! Michael is one HOT piece of work, even from the beginning you feel like you want to grab him and kiss him with a fevered intensity one just can't explain. He is suave, sexy and eternally all-around yummy. He and Sarah share a steamy night at her friend's co-ed bachelor and bachelorette party, but unfortunately circumstances pull them apart. The story makes the reader want to cheer on these characters to bring them back together, you are sad when things go awry, and then joy fills you again, when with some meddling from friends these characters find a way back to each other. The book had a lot of spice, and a heat factor without being overly done. It lit my kindle on fire! Great job from Ms. Wolf. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great love story, with sexy overtones, and a little paranormal thrown in the mix! I will most definitely be on the look out for more of this author's work.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained..

To start off today I wanted to write about the power of words.. Words to me, hold a dear place. Not that I am a talented writer like my friends are, but I still hold the written word dear. Books to me bring me to a place that I can get lost. The imagination runs wild. Your heart starts to pound as the adventure takes twists and turns... and sometimes, depending on the heat level of the book, you kind of squirm around with the sexiness of it all.

You don't have life troubles at that specific moment.. you don't have kids yelling at each other, you don't have everyone sucking the little life that you have left in you. That, my dear friends, is why I am a reader. THAT is why I love the written word. For that one moment, you are there, in the story with the people who will make you laugh, or cry, or even want to throw your book down and scream. That is the power of a great author and their writing!

So, with that said, I found this series just by luck. I am one of those people, who like anyone else, likes "freebies" I happened to get it as a freebie and set it aside for a while. One day, I looked for something to read and just by the cover (Yes people, we sometimes pick up a book by the way the cover looks) I picked it out. I didn't know what the book was about and I was too lazy to go look. I also didn't know who the author was.  So here I am reading away and I crack up laughing. OH YES! I start to really enjoy it. By the end of the book, I couldn't get enough so I went to Amazon and bought the rest of the series. I gushed to my friends about it, as I often do when I enjoy a book, and couldn't wait to see what this author had planned next.

Little do people know, correction - some people know, that I have a REALLY hard time writing reviews. I encourage everyone to do so, but for me, It's something I am not comfortable with. HA! Go figure. But for this book I did! I think it's important for the author to know how much you really like their work, or if you don't necessarily care for it. So here it is my first official blog review:

I bought this thinking, let's see if he can do it again.. Make me a believer! Of course, I had to swallow my words, because the man did it again! I truly enjoyed all four books so far, and this was no exception. In this book Tara and Lucian had to "rough it" and boy did they ever. I laughed a lot in this book, which to me is just an awesome thing. To mix humor into a very sexy book is top notch. The family Steakhouse scene is priceless and will keep me smiling for days to come. Of course, with the humor there is always a bit of eye opening sadness. This book had a little of a lot of things, I cant articulate how much I appreciate and love this series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Update

Hello Everyone!

So, I haven't done a heck of a lot since I started this blog adventure. My life has been a bit topsy turvy of late, and I haven't had time to post or work on the blog much. I do have some good news though. I have set up a couple of interviews with some FABULOUS authors whom I would HIGHLY recommend any day of the week. :) They write fun, sexy, heart pounding books that will make anyone squirm with excitement! Those are going to be coming soon in the near future! Yes! Something to look forward to. In the meantime, I have to start getting back into the book world. I will try my best to get something written soon.

So for now, I will leave you with this little blurb:

"Brie, you're killing me," he murmured. "I have to fuck you soon, or it just might be the end of me."

Her head whipped from side to side as she cried, "I can't believe this is happening. Oh God, don't stop. I want you, too, Sebastian. I want all of you. Fuck me, please." He nearly came in his pants at her sensual pleas, begging him to fuck her.

My first post.

Welcome!

I have been sitting here, in front of my laptop wondering what the hell to write. I have no idea to be honest. I guess I will start with a huge thank you to those of you who have encouraged me to do this. I know that even if I fail miserably, you will still love me. :) But I will try and endeavor to do my best.

So what has brought me here, right now.. Well, frankly, my love of books. My nose is constantly stuck in a book, and as such, I thought it would be good for me to get out there and perhaps review one or two. It will also get rid of some of my shyness towards writing and or expressing how I feel about a book. So here goes nothing!

I won't start with a review today because I am still learning the basics of this blog thing (yeap, I just said "blog thing"). I will leave that for another day. So for now, I will just say I hope you have fun reading these posts and maybe pick up one or two of my recommendations! But until then, be good!
