Islands, weddings, vampires.. Oh my!

My delicious friend Patricia A. Wolf debuts her novella with a group of very talented authors. Yeah, I'm jealous.. what can I say. The power house that is their little group blows my mind! Anyway, I digress. Patricia is one of those people that has a general ease and finesse to her writing. She is very much the romantic and this novella showcases it.  The novella is short, as novellas should be, but with her saucy characters and charming as hell "hero" this little beauty makes you want to read more! I can not wait to see what she has cooked up for the near future. Of course being one of my best friends, I get the inside scoop (who's jealous now?! :)) But I will not spill it. *ZIP* You guys should honestly pick this up! I was blown away by it! So without further ado here is my review:

From the get go, this book brought a smile to my face. From the crazy plane ride, to the teenager who is trying to use her whiles at the airport, and of course the quirky banter between the two best friends. The continuity of the story was spot on! Michael is one HOT piece of work, even from the beginning you feel like you want to grab him and kiss him with a fevered intensity one just can't explain. He is suave, sexy and eternally all-around yummy. He and Sarah share a steamy night at her friend's co-ed bachelor and bachelorette party, but unfortunately circumstances pull them apart. The story makes the reader want to cheer on these characters to bring them back together, you are sad when things go awry, and then joy fills you again, when with some meddling from friends these characters find a way back to each other. The book had a lot of spice, and a heat factor without being overly done. It lit my kindle on fire! Great job from Ms. Wolf. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great love story, with sexy overtones, and a little paranormal thrown in the mix! I will most definitely be on the look out for more of this author's work.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained..

To start off today I wanted to write about the power of words.. Words to me, hold a dear place. Not that I am a talented writer like my friends are, but I still hold the written word dear. Books to me bring me to a place that I can get lost. The imagination runs wild. Your heart starts to pound as the adventure takes twists and turns... and sometimes, depending on the heat level of the book, you kind of squirm around with the sexiness of it all.

You don't have life troubles at that specific moment.. you don't have kids yelling at each other, you don't have everyone sucking the little life that you have left in you. That, my dear friends, is why I am a reader. THAT is why I love the written word. For that one moment, you are there, in the story with the people who will make you laugh, or cry, or even want to throw your book down and scream. That is the power of a great author and their writing!

So, with that said, I found this series just by luck. I am one of those people, who like anyone else, likes "freebies" I happened to get it as a freebie and set it aside for a while. One day, I looked for something to read and just by the cover (Yes people, we sometimes pick up a book by the way the cover looks) I picked it out. I didn't know what the book was about and I was too lazy to go look. I also didn't know who the author was.  So here I am reading away and I crack up laughing. OH YES! I start to really enjoy it. By the end of the book, I couldn't get enough so I went to Amazon and bought the rest of the series. I gushed to my friends about it, as I often do when I enjoy a book, and couldn't wait to see what this author had planned next.

Little do people know, correction - some people know, that I have a REALLY hard time writing reviews. I encourage everyone to do so, but for me, It's something I am not comfortable with. HA! Go figure. But for this book I did! I think it's important for the author to know how much you really like their work, or if you don't necessarily care for it. So here it is my first official blog review:

I bought this thinking, let's see if he can do it again.. Make me a believer! Of course, I had to swallow my words, because the man did it again! I truly enjoyed all four books so far, and this was no exception. In this book Tara and Lucian had to "rough it" and boy did they ever. I laughed a lot in this book, which to me is just an awesome thing. To mix humor into a very sexy book is top notch. The family Steakhouse scene is priceless and will keep me smiling for days to come. Of course, with the humor there is always a bit of eye opening sadness. This book had a little of a lot of things, I cant articulate how much I appreciate and love this series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Book Description: Dom Wars has reached Round 5, and Lucian, Tara, and Steve are prisoners of war owned by the current top Dom, known as the Preacher Dom. All they have to do is find the perfect pitch to sell Gladiator's dildos and ball clenchers to random vanilla businesses. Between Tara, Lucian and Steve, it's looking like an orgasmic circus of humiliation, bonding, and more self-discovery. But there's a catch. Their scores will buy their chances of survival in the next round. And Preacher Dom isn't about to let three cheating hooligans ruin his chances at the million.

Update

Hello Everyone!

So, I haven't done a heck of a lot since I started this blog adventure. My life has been a bit topsy turvy of late, and I haven't had time to post or work on the blog much. I do have some good news though. I have set up a couple of interviews with some FABULOUS authors whom I would HIGHLY recommend any day of the week. :) They write fun, sexy, heart pounding books that will make anyone squirm with excitement! Those are going to be coming soon in the near future! Yes! Something to look forward to. In the meantime, I have to start getting back into the book world. I will try my best to get something written soon.

So for now, I will leave you with this little blurb:

"Brie, you're killing me," he murmured. "I have to fuck you soon, or it just might be the end of me."

Her head whipped from side to side as she cried, "I can't believe this is happening. Oh God, don't stop. I want you, too, Sebastian. I want all of you. Fuck me, please." He nearly came in his pants at her sensual pleas, begging him to fuck her.

My first post.

Welcome!

I have been sitting here, in front of my laptop wondering what the hell to write. I have no idea to be honest. I guess I will start with a huge thank you to those of you who have encouraged me to do this. I know that even if I fail miserably, you will still love me. :) But I will try and endeavor to do my best.

So what has brought me here, right now.. Well, frankly, my love of books. My nose is constantly stuck in a book, and as such, I thought it would be good for me to get out there and perhaps review one or two. It will also get rid of some of my shyness towards writing and or expressing how I feel about a book. So here goes nothing!

I won't start with a review today because I am still learning the basics of this blog thing (yeap, I just said "blog thing"). I will leave that for another day. So for now, I will just say I hope you have fun reading these posts and maybe pick up one or two of my recommendations! But until then, be good!
