Vampire

Book Description: Royce Bellamy is over one thousand years old. He’s a vampire. He’s also part of an elite force with the New York City Police Department and he’s faced with a dilemma. His current lover is pushing him to turn her, she’s one of the cities’ top ADA’s.

Royce already has three vampire beauties running around the world, who owe their immortality to him, did he need another?

His current human lover, Beth Ann has taken hold of him in a way he never expected. Vampires weren’t supposed to fall in love. But was it love? He’d find out soon enough.

Meet Lucinda, Magenta and Dahlia his three children. Royce has released them; it is after all the twenty-first century. One will fall in love with a warlock, one a jackal and one with a shape-shifter. Will any of them find redemption? Or will their desire always be of blood?

When I read the description, I thought the book was going to be based on the current relationship between Royce and Beth Ann. That is not the case. It is more of a back story as to how Royce became a vampire and how he turned "his children". Even though it was more of that, rather than the "current" story, I thought it was well written and well thought out. The pace was excellent and there was a ton of heat to keep you reading.

Mr. Radcliff took us from modern day time back to 1044 A.D. where Royce first turns into a vampire and looses his ability to love... or so he thought. You meet Simone, the vampire who turned him and taught him to be a proper vampire. They were together for over a hundred years, and they "played" a lot with the humans they picked wherever they went. Who knew that they were doing such things back then!

In this story, you meet Lucinda - brown haired, blue eyed beauty - his first turn, she is a sorceress in Louis VII court. Royce can't help but be charmed by her and wants to take her away from Louis and into his bed. Royce is very convincing, and he lets his sexual prowess do the talking. Needless to say she is his first, but not the last.

The second turn you meet is Magenta - blond hair, blue eyed seer/witch - he was enamored with her at first sight. She had a smart mouth and he admired her more for it. But he loved her use of that mouth for other things other than talking even more.

Dahlia, the third to be turned by Royce. Another beauty with brown hair and blue eyes. She is a fallen angel who fell in love with another paranormal being. A big no-no for the big man upstairs. She was brought to him by Magenta, unkempt, in chains and frail. He nursed her back to health and persuaded her to turn in his rather fun and sexy way.

One of these three turns up at Beth Ann's house for help with a little situation involving her current love but Beth Ann is non too happy about it. Why? One, because she had no idea that she existed and two, because she has been begging Royce to turn her, and he denies her at every turn. I will let you read the story and find out what happens from here. Be ready to go through some very explicit sexual situations! This book was exceptionally erotic, and right down steamy! I hope that Royce and Beth Ann make an appearance in the upcoming books, as I would love to see their story blossom. I am also really looking forward to reading the upcoming stories of Royce's "children", especially Dahlia.

4.5 Stars for a great start to what I am sure will be a great series.

Until Next Time, Enjoy!
